Hair Bows & Bow Ties at Voodoo Vintage

I’ve been working hard all week and I can finally show you the result….

Skull hair bows! I’ve been making them by the dozens and they’re beginning to overflow my apartment, which is where you come in… I listed all 10 colors on Etsy tonight!

There’s only 8 of each color available before I choose a new fabric (or a new hobby) so if you would like to purchase one… don’t hesitate!

All bows are 100% cotton and 100% quality. The charms are hand-painted and removable!

Bows come standard on bobby pins but I can glue on a pinback instead to make a snazzy bow tie!

Giles Fall 2011

Now that spring fashion week has come to an end, I’d like to focus on what I look forward to seeing in the upcoming season. Giles Deacon was one of my favorites for fall. I’m a sucker for the huge fur coats, a new twist on the classic collared shirt, sheer laces and romantic prints.

Winterlust

As the summer sun begins to lose its strength, I’m safe to discard the light colors and descend into the darkness with my fall fashion selections. However, in perpetually-sunny San Diego, crop tops and cut-offs are still perfectly sane winter wardrobe pieces. If you haven’t noticed, for me, it’s really all about a great pair of shoes. Right now I’m lusting: platform creepers, studded loafers, Pony Fur Litas and winklepickers. But as always, my true first love remains with Ann Demeulemeester’s Fall ’08 triple lace-up boots. My winterlust list also contains plenty of tank tops, sheer chiffons, thigh-highs, leather and the pants I hope to one day afford: Bonadrag‘s lace flares.

Louis Vuitton Spring 2012

Marc Jacobs‘ spring collection is a lovely shift towards the dainty and delicate, but not without a little edge. The show itself contained a miraculous white carousel at the epicenter on which the models sat poised in delicate laces and sheer pastels. The bags themselves are tough crocodile and leathers made dainty by the light springtime coloring.

Alexander McQueen Spring 2012

The late great Alexander McQueen lives on through the eyes of designer Sarah Burton. While this Spring collection might not be as dramatic as one would expect from McQueen himself, the pieces overall are equally as breathtaking. The garments are literally dripping with gold; the shoes are to die for and the gowns are extraordinary. There’s a wonderful variety of pleating, lavish collars and headpieces, intricate beading, shimmery fabrics, ruffled layers and metallic accents. The collection is a mythical journey into the extravagant lives of underwater goddesses.

Jean Paul Gaultier Spring 2012

This collection has a definite rock ‘n’ roll gypsy vibe with a concentration on bringing things to the center with accessories like: belts, corsets and waist ties. It’s all in the details as the models were adorned with rockabilly up-do’s, piles of punky jewelry and faint tattoos reminiscent of blue pattern china.

I wasn’t so keen on the rest of the collection. However, this dress is to DIE for.

This collection haunts my dreams. I’m obsessed.
